Severnlea State School is a small school offering big opportunities for students who wish to learn and grow. Severnlea has been part of the Granite Belt Cluster of Small schools for over 100 years and has always played a role in developing students.
Severnlea's motto is 'With Joyful Spirit' and this outlines the school mission in that we wish to provide a happy environment for students to learn, and provide them with skills and strategies that will allow them to succeed later as they move on educationally. There is nothing more joyful than to come to a situation and realise you have the skills and means to accomplish any task. Severnlea State School can assist all students to achieve their potential.
The school currently has 49 students enrolled at the school from Prep to Year 6. This allows the Teaching Principal and the Early Years teachers to have small classes in which to engage in specific individual learning for all children. We have three regular teacher aides who are very experienced and work closely with teachers to ensure students progress and achievements are monitored, reported and extended.
Severnlea is nestled in amongst the rural farming area which provides great wines and fruit for many people and this connection to the land is what many students bring to the school. The school is also less than five minutes from Stanthorpe and this allows quick access to resources that are available.
